and Alphington offices, and we also offer telehealth appointments (phone or video calling) from all other locations.

FAQs

    What Are the Consultation Fees?

    • An initial 50-60 minute standard consultation costs between $200-$225.00.
    • An initial 60 minute complex consultation costs up to $263.00.
    • A standard 30 minute review appointment will cost $110.00.
    • A standard 45 minute review appointment will cost $165.00.

    Do I Need a Referral From My GP to Book an Appointment?

    • A referral from a GP is not required to make an appointment with one of our dietitians. However, Chronic Disease Management (CDM)/Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans, or Eating Disorder Plans (EDPs) are required for Medicare rebates to apply.

    How Do I Get a Medicare Rebate?

    • Medicare offers rebates of $58.30 for clients with a CDM/EPC plan, or EDP from their GP. We have the facility to process these rebates on the day of your appointment. The remaining gap balance is then payable.
    • Your GP can allocate up to 5 dietitian rebates per calendar year under a CDM/EPC plan.
    • Up to 20 dietitian rebates are available for clients with an EDP.
    • Discuss your specific needs with your GP, and to check for eligibility.

     

    Can I Use Private Health Insurance?

    • We have the facility to process claims for many private health insurance funds on the day of your appointment. Any remaining gap balance is then payable. Contact your private health fund for more information about what rebate your level of cover entitles you to.

    Do You See Department of Veterans’ Affairs Clients?

    • We accept Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) gold card holders only.

    What Type of Appointments Do You Offer?

    • We offer face-to-face appointments at our Eltham, Croydon, Alphington, and Chirnside Park locations. Phone and telehealth appointments are also available if it is not convenient to meet with the dietitian face-to-face.

    Which Dietitian Should I See?

     

    Cancellation Policy 

    Peak Health & Nutrition have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, 50% of the total appointment cost will be charged. If an appointment is missed with no notification, 100% of the total appointment cost will be charged.

    We understand that appointment times can become inconvenient and need to be changed, but if a patient does not attend an appointment, other patients lose the opportunity to see the dietitian. If rescheduling is required please notify reception at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, otherwise these cancellation fees will be charged.
